I am now traveling in a rental car from Seattle to Portland.  I am amazed at the sunshine.  It is rainy, cold and cloudy in SE Alaska.  My plane got diverted to Sitka to pick up 30 stranded passengers.  They got socked in by fog the previous day.  We had 30 empty seats so they diverted our plane to pick them up.
