U.K.: INCREASE IN HATE CRIMES since the vote for exiting EU

http://thinkprogress.org/world/2016/06/28/3793425/brexit-racism-increase/

There has been a significant rise in hate crimes since the U.K. voted to leave the European Union last week, according to local media — which is probably not a surprise given the blatantly xenophobic campaigning of Leave supporters.
The Independent reported Tuesday that there have already been over 100 incidents of racial abuse and hate crimes since the U.K. voted to leave the union last Thursday. A Facebook album called “Worrying Signs” has compiled reports of the incidents throughout the country — from personal threats and attacks to vandalization of cultural centers. Polish and Muslim communities in particular have faced the brunt of many of these attacks, but it’s certainly spread beyond that as well.
On Tuesday, a group of men in Manchester shouted racist slurs at another passenger on the tram and told him to “get deported.” One of the men shouted “Get off the tram right now, bro I will waste you… Don’t chat shit when you’re not even from England!” before and throwing a drink on the passenger.

Why Gun Nuts Lie - I know from experience

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/dogmadebate/2016/06/why-gun-nuts-lie-i-know-from-experience/

At this nation’s beginning, it made sense for the citizens to be armed similarly to the government to prevent tyranny.
Today, that’s ridiculous. The very concept is outdated. Some have said to me; the point is for the citizens to be “as armed as well as the government.”
For starters, today, the military has fully automatic M-16s. Citizens can’t buy that. You have to get a tamer version: AR-15.
You can’t have flame throwers, bombs, bazookas, Z10 attack helicopters, bradleys, tanks, fighter jets, nuclear reactors, or a plethora of other secret military weapons you don’t even know exist.
So even today, with the 2nd Amendment in full effect, we don’t have the rights to be “armed as well as our government.”
Secondly, what if you were? I could hand you 50 AR-15s, give you 1000 illegal bombs, steal you a couple of tanks, and smuggle in some bazookas, and even let you fully train 500 of your closest friends.
If the government wants your shit, they’re going to take it.Shooting
You still wouldn’t be a match for even a single battalion of the United States Marine Corps. Not to mention the Air Force, Army, Navy, National Guard, Secret Service, FBI, CIA, and Seals.
So stop acting like your little AR-15 is going to stop tyranny.
Just be honest. You like it because it makes your pee-pee big, and when you fire it, it gives you a tingle in your no-no place.
Trust me, I understand.

Trump's son asked for a donation to his dad's campaign to a Scottish Politico: She said NO, in a big way

http://occupydemocrats.com/2016/06/28/27222/

Donald Trump Jr, the eldest of Trump’s self-entitled brood, apparently barraged a number of Scottish politicians with requests for money to “make America great again,” the vast majority of which were sent straight to the spam folder – but one MP, Natalie McGarry of Glasgow East, couldn’t let it go unanswered – and her response hits it right out of the park.
natalieemail
It is, of course, extremely illegal for foreign nationals to donate to election campaigns. Given Trump’s ignorance of the law in general and his campaign’s now notorious inefficiency and incompetence, we can assume that the Trump camp simply bought lots of email lists and began spamming them with desperate requests for money, not knowing that some of them led to Scottish members of Parliament.

GOP Benghazi Report DOES NOT say there were criminal actions by Hillary. (It was just a witch Hunt that cost 7 Million dollars)

http://wonkette.com/603495/house-republican-benghazi-report-fails-to-convict-hillary-clinton-of-murder-again

Oh how weird! One day after Democrats on the House Select Committee on Benghazi released their minority report showing that somehow Hillary Clinton is not the evil Benghazi-doer told about in legend, and moreover showing that Republicans on the same committee have been wasting everybody’s time and taxpayer money for the last two years, the Republicans have released their own report. It is SHOCK! It is SCANDAL! It is 800 pages long — or as Trey Gowdy wrote, “You can read this report in less time than our fellow citizens were taking fire and fighting for their lives on the rooftops and in the streets of Benghazi” — so there must be some goodies in it, right?
LOL JK, it’s a big flaccid dong of failure:
Ending one of the longest, costliest and most bitterly partisan congressional investigations in history, the House Select Committee on Benghazi issued its final report on Tuesday, finding no new evidence of culpability or wrongdoing by Hillary Clinton in the 2012 attacks in Libya that left four Americans dead.
The 800-page report, however, included some new details about the night of the attacks, and the context in which it occurred, and it delivered a broad rebuke of government agencies like the Defense Department, the Central Intelligence Agency and the State Department — and the officials who led them — for failing to grasp the acute security risks in the Libyan city, and especially for maintaining outposts in Benghazi that they could not protect.
Uh-oh pisketti-oh, sounds like those poor Republicans tried and failed and tried again (and failed again) to find all Hillary’s dirty secrets so they could keep her from being preznit, and when that didn’t happen, they ended up having to do some actual fucking work. What a concept!
The report, however, did not dispute that United States military forces stationed in Europe could not have reached Benghazi in time to rescue the personnel who died — a central finding of previous inquiries.

TRUMP SUPPORTING NEO-NAZIS stabbed 5 at Protest

http://www.zootfeed.com/2016/06/26/trump-supporting-neo-nazis-stab-5-people-at-protest-in-sacramento/

Members of a neo-Nazi group whose founder supports Donald Trump have stabbed five people outside of a protest in Sacramento, CA.
The rally was initially organized by the Traditionalist Worker Party, a white nationalist group. Opponents also used social media to organize against neo-Nazi beliefs.
About 150 anarchist and anti-fascist counter-protesters met about 25 neo-Nazi demonstrators in a “highly volatile situation,” Sacramento police told the Sacramento Bee.
Police added that they aimed to protect the free-speech rights of everyone who came to protest.
“As the Traditionalist Workers Party started to arrive on scene, it was chaotic. Anti-fascists immediately ran in, hundreds of people, and they just engaged in a fight,” George Granada of the California Highway Patrol’s Capitol Protection Section told CNN.
The Sacramento Fire Department reported a mass stabbing at a neo-Nazi protest in Sacramento:
Seven people were taken to hospitals with serious trauma wounds, either from stabbings or other injuries, according to the Sacramento Fire Department. They were expected to survive, the Associated Press reported.

Judge gave Stanford Rapist 6 months, Judge gave latino in similar case 3 years - WHY THE DIFFERENCE?

http://winningdemocrats.com/heres-what-the-stanford-rapists-judge-just-gave-a-latino-man-for-the-same-crime-of-rape/

Judge Aaron Persky (pictured) handed down a slap on the wrist sentence for Stanford rapist Brock Allen Turner. Persky gave the rapist only a 6-month sentence because he said, “A prison sentence would have a severe impact on him. I think he will not be a danger to others.” We can’t have violent offenders receiving harsh sentences now, can we?
In a similar case, though, Judge Persky sentenced an offender to three  years in state prison.
The Guardian reports:
Raul Ramirez, a 32-year-old immigrant from El Salvador who admitted to sexually assaulting his female roommate in a case that has similarities with the Stanford case, will be sentenced to three years in state prison under a deal overseen by judge Aaron Persky, according to records obtained by the Guardian.

2016; IGNORE THE WORKERS and Working Class to your peril. (Constantly Being Trickled on IS NOT Helping)

http://crooksandliars.com/2016/06/message-2016-ignore-workers-and-working?utm_source=Crooks+and+Liars+Daily+Newsletter&utm_campaign=e769dd8051-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_d4904be7bc-e769dd8051-330141725

In the 35 years since Ronald Reagan became President, we've seen a steady erosion in the attention political leaders have given to the economic and political concerns of the working class. From the dramatic decline of union membership to the excessive deregulation of Wall Street; from trade deals that enrich multinational corporations but not American workers to a lack of antitrust enforcement that's allowed near-monopolies in too many sectors; from a lack of significant wage increases for all but the top 10% of Americans to ever-escalating inflation in the costs of health care, groceries and college, our political system breakdown and our persistent 'trickle down' sense of economics have combined - and conspired - to weaken the well-being of most American working people and retirees.
And now they're angry, in ways that once hardly seemed imaginable.
A ridiculous huckster and nativist named Donald J. Trump is only days away from officially being the Republican Party nominee for President. And in the United Kingdom, Brexit has just validated that working class anger isn't only an American phenomenon and concern.

The Recovery From the Bundy Takeover Mess is an ongoing process: Voting today

http://democratherald.com/news/opinion/editorial/editorial-the-road-to-recovery-in-harney-county/article_ca1f538b-5019-51af-8edd-fab0c3fb3bf0.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=user-share

Harney County covers more than 10,000 square miles of eastern Oregon; it's the largest county in the state.
With only about 7,100 residents, it also has fewer than one resident per square mile.
So it's a fair bet that the 41-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge by activists protesting federal land policies will be the talk of the county for some time. You don't recover from this sort of event overnight.
In fact, some chapters of the takeover saga remain to be written: Most of the two dozen defendants arrested in the wake of the occupation, including leader Ammon Bundy, await trial in Portland beginning Sept. 7.
And residents of the county are scheduled to vote today on a referendum to recall County Judge Steve Grasty, who for the past 18 years has been the county's top administrative official. Backers of the recall effort point to Grasty's refusal to allow Bundy from holding a public meeting in a county building. Bundy apparently wanted to use the public setting to explain his side of the takeover.
Grasty said that the request didn't fit with the county's policy on public safety.
But the request was ludicrous on its face, and Grasty was completely right to turn it down, for a couple of additional reasons: First and foremost, Bundy and his followers were in the middle of an illegal occupation at a federal wildlife refuge at the time they made a request. Let's say these people were in the middle of robbing a bank: You wouldn't give them a venue on government property to explain their actions: "We're, uh, robbing this bank because, uh, that's where the money is. No further questions."
Second, it's not exactly as if the refuge occupiers and their supporters were silent about the reasons behind the occupation. We are hard-pressed to think of another recent crime in which the parties were so vociferous about talking about it: In fact, the occupiers seemed to miss few opportunities to chat about their doings, whether in press conferences, Facebook posts, tweets, videos — every available medium except carrier pigeon. In fact, the record they left behind is now being gleefully pored over by prosecutors while defense attorneys ponder how to defend a case with so much documentation provided voluntarily by their clients. In fact, defense attorneys probably are grateful that Grasty turned them down; it's one less appearance they need to worry about.

Trump trashed on CNN for Scotland Foolishness

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/06/lewandowski-gets-destroyed-on-cnn-for-hyping-trump-as-brexit-expert-he-didnt-know-what-it-was/

llary Clinton surrogate Christine Quinn called out former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski for suggesting that the billionaire GOP candidate was an expert on Britain leaving the European Union.
On Monday’s edition of CNN’s New Day, Lewandowski tried to spin Trump’s proclamation that the Brexit would help business at his golf resort in Scotland.
“Obviously the U.S. dollar has become much stronger now against the British pound,” Lewandowski said. “If you’re going to spend money in Europe, now would actually be a good time to go with the fall of the pound.”
“What you have is a world view, so what you have is someone who is saying, ‘Let’s look at this from the U.S. perspective. If you want to go and travel overseas — just from a monetary perspective — now is the right time to do that because what you’re getting is more for your dollar.'”
Quinn pointed out that “Donald Trump is not running to be travel agent of the world, he’s running to be president of the United States.”
“What he said wasn’t a commentary on international markets, it was, ‘When the pound goes down, more people will come to my golf course,'” she explained. “Donald Trump’s main concern isn’t the international markets, it isn’t the impact that Brexit will have on hard working Americans 401Ks, it’s himself. How can he make more money, how can he put more money in his bank account?”
Lewandowski linked the Brexit vote to “what we see here in this country” with Donald Trump’s popularity in the Republican Party.

Hillary and Elizabeth Warren on the stump!! Very good.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/28/us/politics/elizabeth-warren-hillary-clinton.html

CINCINNATI — Hillary Clinton and Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts held their first joint campaign event on Monday, striking a populist tone as they sought to address the anger over income inequality that has swept the electorate while skewering Donald J. Trump as contributing to the middle class’s economic woes.
“I got into this race because I wanted to even the odds for people who have the odds stacked against them,” Mrs. Clinton said. “To build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top, we have got to go big and we have got to go bold.”
The event was the first time the two Democrats have campaigned onstage together and is the culmination of an unlikely political alliance between Mrs. Clinton, who is often associated with her husband’s centrist economic agenda, and Ms. Warren, who has assailed policies of the Bill Clinton era by tying the deregulation of Wall Street to the 2008 financial crisis.
But those differences seemed a distant memory on Monday, as Mrs. Clinton and Ms. Warren echoed similar liberal themes and took the stage together united against the common enemy: Mr. Trump.
Mrs. Warren praised Mrs. Clinton’s advocacy for families and children, saying she had “steady hands, but most of all, she has a good heart.” But she also presented the presumptive Democratic nominee as singularly suited to defeat Mr. Trump.
“She knows what it takes to defeat a thin-skinned bully who is driven by greed and hate,” said Ms. Warren, who has often been on the receiving side of Mr. Trump’s Twitter attacks. “She doesn’t whine. She doesn’t run to Twitter to call her opponents fat pigs or dummies.”

Wife beaters can have their guns taken: SUPREME COURT RULING.

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2016/06/27/the-supreme-court-just-decided-the-second-amendment-does-not-apply-to-everyone/

The Supreme Court Just Decided The Second Amendment Does NOT Apply To Everyone

The Supreme Court just decided that no, not everyone should have access to firearms, upholding the federal law that if you are a domestic abuser, you should not be able to possess a gun. Seems like a no-brainer, but if you’re a domestic abuser, you’ve already proven yourself to not have much cognitive ability.
The case in question was about a Maine resident who was mad he lost his right to possess a firearm. According to CNN:
“Stephen Voisine pled guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in 2004 against a girlfriend. Five years later, he was investigated for shooting a bald eagle and as part of the investigation he turned over a firearm to authorities.”
Seems like a real winner. Oh, and a bald eagle? Really? And he thinks he should be able to own a gun?
Well, guess what, Mr. Voisine, and all you other domestic abusers out there, you don’t get to own a gun.
Justice Elena Kagan read the opinion of the Court:
“Federal law prohibits any person convicted of a “misdemeanor crime of domestic violence” from possessing a firearm. That phrase is defined to include any misdemeanor committed against a domestic relation that necessarily involves the “use . . . of physical force.” The question presented here is whether misdemeanor assault convictions for reckless (as contrasted to knowing or intentional) conduct trigger the statutory firearms ban. We hold that they do.
Kagan then cited the gun law that was enacted by Congress two decades ago:

Texas Abortion Laws are Unconstitutional: Conservatives are melting down

http://www.rawstory.com/2016/06/conservatives-stew-in-pot-of-their-own-fury-over-scotus-abortion-ruling-kennedy-sides-with-butchers/

e Supreme Court’s striking down of a highly restrictive anti-choice law on Monday set off some conservatives who had been hoping for a 4-4 tie which would have let the law stand.
By a 5-3 vote, the court threw out a Texas law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at local hospitals with a mandate that clinics must also meet the same strict standards as ambulatory surgical centers.
According to the majority decision, the law went against the undue burden standard established in the 1992 case Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
With Justice Anthony Kennedy’s vote once again being pivotal, the moderate jurist who often seems to be in the middle of every tight decision took more than his share of abuse,  with one conservative commentator saying he sided “with the butchers against innocent life.”

Female Gun Advocate SHOOTS AND KILLS HER FAMILY

http://bipartisanreport.com/2016/06/26/just-in-texas-gun-advocate-goes-on-shooting-rampage-kills-entire-family-details/

A Houston, Texas gun advocate and mother was shot by police after shooting and killing both of her daughters following an argument on Saturday, June 25.
The mother, identified as Christy Sheats, 42, shot and killed both of her young daughters, Taylor, 22, and Madison, 17, according to local reports. It was their father’s birthday, and the domestic dispute started in the family’s home but escalated to gun violence that ended in the street in front of the house.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said:
‘IT WAS A FAMILY ARGUMENT THAT TURNED INTO A SHOOTING, BUT WE’RE STILL TRYING TO PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER.’
According to several witnesses, the girls tried to escape with their father, Jason, but were shot by their mother in the yard and street before they could. The father did manage to flee the scene eventually, unhurt, and called police from a neighbor’s house.
The couple, Jason and Christy Sheats, had only recently reunited after separating. Police records show deputies had been called to the home several times before. Jason Sheats, although unharmed, was taken to the hospital because he was so emotionally distraught.

Jesus turned down Donald Trump friend request on Facebook. (Sorry Donald)

Jesus, who has not generally been active on Facebook, made a rare appearance on the social network on Monday to announce his decision to ignore the presumptive Republican nominee’s request for a personal relationship with him.
In a brief post, Jesus offered the following explanation: “Just everything.”
The turndown from Jesus Christ, the inspiration behind one of the world’s most prominent religions, caps what has been a tough month for the Trump campaign.
Privately, campaign staffers fretted that the candidate would pen a disparaging tweet about Jesus, which might alienate evangelical voters in key battleground states.
But, at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump made no reference to Jesus, and instead touted endorsements he had received from Gary Busey, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Joe (the Plumber) Wurzelbacher.

Media and Trump are business Partners? (Ratings, ratings, ratings means money, money, money)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/dan-rather-donald-trump_us_576ff802e4b017b379f63ec8

Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather on Sunday had some words of advice — and caution — for journalists covering presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Rather criticized cable news networks’ wall-to-wall coverage of the real estate mogul and warned that they may have been “complicit” in Trump’s rise to the top of the GOP field.
“What I worry about is, in a way, the media is a political partner, a business partner of Donald Trump,” Rather said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”
“The media wants the ratings,” he went on. “Trump delivers the ratings. In a way, they’re business partners.”

Trump is Racist: GOP Jan Brewer gets upset about Trump being called racist

http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/jan-brewer-goes-berserk-cnn-im-fed-being-treated-bigot-backing-trump?akid=14386.294211.wdmAcp&rd=1&src=newsletter1059046&t=26

During an explosive CNN segment on Sunday, former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) lashed out at President Barack Obama because she said she was tired of being called a “bigot” for supporting presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
At a fundraiser for Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) on Friday, Obama took a shot at Trump.
“We don’t have time for charlatans and we don’t have time for hatred and we don’t have time for bigotry and we don’t have time for film-flam,” the president said. “And we don’t have the luxury of just popping off and saying just whatever comes to the top of our heads. Don’t have time for that.”
The comments appeared to hit a nerve with Brewer when she was asked about them during a panel segment on CNN.
“Obama just always comes tearing after Republicans constantly, calling names and calling people bigots and racists,” she complained. “And that’s their big comeback, you know. And it’s absolutely ridiculous. To see a president speak like that is offensive.”
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley reminded Brewer that the president did not make his comments “about all Republicans.”
“But he did say it rightly that Donald Trump is a bigot, Donald Trump is a racist,” O’Malley insisted. “Donald Trump is, in fact, making fascist appeals. That’s why many self-respecting Republicans are not supporting Donald Trump.”

1% try to stop Medical Marijuana in Florida: (Making too much money off drugs)

http://cannachronicle.com/2016/06/27/the-1-moves-to-kill-medical-marijuana-in-florida-again/

In April 2016, Broke millionaire and drug war profiteer Mel Sembler said he would raise $10 million to defeat amendment 2.
Sembler Told a TBO reporter that: “We’re trying to save lives and people’s brains,” the Drug Free America founder said. “It’s not a medicine.”
“Mel The Moocher’s” reasoning for opposing Amendment 2 (Florida’s medical marijuana ballot initiative) appear to lack any rational basis beyond the dirty profit motive.
States with medical cannabis laws have 25 percent less opioid overdoses than those without, and Florida is leading the nation in a raging prescription pill overdose epidemic. Medical-cannabis legalization is also associated with reductions veteran suicides, and does not increase teen use, research shows.
Cannabis’ medical use is supported by a majority of U.S. doctors; 56 percent support full legalization. Twenty-four states now have medical-cannabis laws, covering hundreds of millions of people.
“Mel The Moocher” did not respond to requests for comment. (figures he’s kind of a douche bag)

WOMEN BEATERS CAN HAVE GUNS TAKEN: Supreme Court Ruling

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/06/voisine-domestic-abusers-guns-supreme-court

In a 6-2 decision, the Supreme Court on Monday ruled that reckless domestic assaults can be considered misdemeanor crimes to restrict gun ownership. The decision comes as a major victory for women's rights and domestic violence advocacy groups.

TEXAS ABORTION LAW UNCONSTITUTIONAL! New Decision

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/6/27/1542852/-Supreme-Court-rejects-Texas-abortion-law?detail=email&link_id=1&can_id=fe4020b37f6b0a9909f482166cdbbdf9&source=email-supreme-court-rejects-texas-abortion-law&email_referrer=supreme-court-rejects-texas-abortion-law&email_subject=supreme-court-rejects-texas-abortion-law

n a 5-3 decision, the Supreme Court has ruled that the Texas law on abortion violates the Constitution and places an undue burden on the right to an abortion. Justice Breyer writes the opinion, which says in essence:
Both the admitting privileges and surgical center requirements place a substantial obstacle in the path of women seeking a previability abortion, constitute an undue burden on abortion access, and thus violate the Constitution.
