A video going viral on YouTube shows a hilarious satirical rant that
mocks the most delusional, paranoid, stupid, demented, face-palm
evoking, bang-your-head-against-the-wall-multiple-times furor that is
coming out of Texas lately. In it, a chew-spitting red-blooded
“patriotic redneck” from Texas, delivers a diatribe that only a single
digit IQ Alex Jones devotee would be proud of.
Clearly in need of some dental work and a GED, this unidentified man who goes by the moniker “The1316killer”
on YouTube, and has evidently received an overdose of Alex Jones and
Fox News, is quite perturbed over the U.S. military conducting training
exercises in his beloved state of Texas. Formally known as Jade Helm 15,
the training exercises are scheduled to take place this summer across
five western states which of course includes Texas, which is considered
to be the equivalent of Israel, by every God-fearing, Obama hating,
freedom-loving, Rush Limbaugh-worshiping Republican, in America. And
they have decided that these military exercises in Texas, is part of a
nefarious plot to instill martial law and round-up all of these patriots
and their guns, in order to hold them captive in abandoned Walmarts. Or
something like that, anyway…
The furor started, when Texas lunatic Republican Governor, Greg Abbott,
decided to pander to the most idiotic demographic in America. Publicly
asking the Texas National Guard to monitor the training exercises just
in case those members of the U.S. military, decides to go all martial
law on Texas one day at the behest of their Muslim, Anti-Christ,
American-hating, Kenyan President.
Police in Chelsea, Oklahoma, say they were threatened and forced to
drop DUI charges against a man whom they say is very influential in the
small town.
Assistant Police Chief Travis Hogan reportedly showed KTUL a dashcam
video of a DUI that took place two months ago and has since stirred up a
lot of controversy.
"My officers have received threats. I personally and the chief has received threats to our jobs," Hogan told the news station.
On the evening of the incident in question, Officer Nicholas Pappe
reportedly pulled over a white Jeep and was greeted by Brian Haggard,
who is said to be a businessman who is very well connected, reports The
Blaze. Pappe was about to arrest Haggard for drinking while under the
influence, but what reportedly happened next stopped the department dead
in its tracks.

During
last fall’s midterm election campaign, “I’m not a scientist” became a
standard Republican answer to questions about climate change. The line
seemed to invite parody, and Stephen Colbert (among others) obliged. He
played clips of House Speaker John Boehner, then Senate Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell, and Florida Governor Rick Scott all offering, more or
less word for word, the same refrain. “Everyone who denies climate
change has the same stirring message,” Colbert observed. “ ‘We don’t know what the fuck we’re talking about.’ ”
The line worked—or, at least, didn’t not work—and
Republicans won both houses of Congress. Now, it seems, they are trying
to go one better. They are trying to prevent even scientists from being
scientists.
Last week, the House Science,
Space, and Technology Committee, headed by Texas Republican Lamar Smith,
approved a bill that would slash at least three hundred million dollars
from NASA’s earth-science budget. “Earth science, of
course, includes climate science,” Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson,
a Texas Democrat who is also on the committee, noted. (Smith said that the White House’s NASA
budget request favored the earth sciences “at the expense of the other
science divisions and human and robotic space exploration.”) Johnson
tried to get the cuts eliminated from the bill, but her proposed
amendment was rejected. Defunding NASA’s earth-science
program takes willed ignorance one giant leap further. It means that not
only will climate studies be ignored; some potentially useful data
won’t even be collected.
The vote brought howls of protest from NASA itself and from wider earth-science circles. The agency’s administrator, Charles Bolden, issued a statement
saying that the bill “guts our Earth science program and threatens to
set back generations worth of progress in better understanding our
changing climate.” In an opinion piece for the Washington Post,
Marshall Shepherd, a professor of atmospheric science at the University
of Georgia and the former president of the American Meteorological
Association, said that he could not sleep after hearing about the vote.
“None of us has a ‘vacation planet’ we can go to for the weekend, so I
argue that NASA’s mission to study planet Earth should be a ‘no-brainer,’ ” he wrote.
The vote on the NASA bill came just a week after the same
House committee approved major funding cuts to the National Science
Foundation’s geosciences program, as well as cuts to Department of
Energy programs that support research into new energy sources. As Michael Hiltzik, a columnist for the Los Angeles Times, noted, the committee is “living down to our worst expectations.”
The deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, and Freddie Gray
have placed a national spotlight on police killings of black men. But

have killed over the past few years.

Jon Stewart started his skit pointing out that Fox
News went into hyperventilating mode when there was a disclosure
problem with foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation. Brit Hume
admitted that there was nothing there but speculated that the donations
came with the requisite influence peddling.
To be clear, those giving to the Clinton Foundation
or to any candidate for that matter are in fact looking for influence.
So Fox News’ Brett Hume was partially correct. The hypocrisy is that
this is done on all sides. In the case of many it is done out of
necessity.
“The question remains,” Megyn Kelly subsequently said. “To whom does she owe favors because of the Clinton Foundation.”
Jon Stewart scolded the media for virtually ignoring
the $2.5 billion targeted to be spent on the 2016 presidential
election. He pointed out that billionaires today can singlehandedly fund
elections, effectively making the supported politician owned.
They burned him alive in an iron cage, and as he screamed and writhed in the agony of hell they made a sport of his death.
After
listening to one newscast after another rightly condemn the barbaric
killing of that Jordanian air force pilot at the bloody hands of ISIS, I
couldn’t sleep. My mind kept roaming the past trying to retrieve a
vaguely remembered photograph that I had seen long ago in the archives
of a college library in Texas.
Suddenly, around two in
the morning, the image materialized in my head. I made my way down the
hall to my computer and typed in: “Waco, Texas. Lynching.”
Sure
enough, there it was: the charred corpse of a young black man, tied to a
blistered tree in the heart of the Texas Bible Belt. Next to the burned
body, young white men can be seen smiling and grinning, seemingly
jubilant at their front-row seats in a carnival of death. One of them
sent a picture postcard home: “This is the barbeque we had last night.
My picture is to the left with a cross over it. Your son, Joe.”
Early last month, veteran polar explorers and scientists Marc
Cornelissen and Philip de Roo set out on skis from Resolute Bay, a
remote outpost in the patchwork of islands between Canada and Greenland.
Their destination was Bathurst Island, a treacherous 70-mile trek to
the northwest across the frozen sea, where they planned to document
thinning Arctic sea ice just a few months after NASA reported that the
winter ice cover was the lowest on record.

I was delivering meals for Meals On Wheels yesterday and I got rear ended while stopped at a light.
I was at the light and WHAM!!!! I thought 'did I just hit someone' but looked and I was stopped at a red light. A pedestrian walked up and said, just pull over and do the paperwork. I told him I would like his name and address as a witness. I pulled over and the car that hit me drove off.
I took off and followed him. He went 6 - 9 blocks and pulled into a driveway. I blocked him in. He got out of his car and I said I need his drivers license, insurance and registration.
I COULD NOT FIND MY CELL PHONE OR I WOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY. He said he could borrow his phone and he was very sorry, he is in rehab and does not have a license.
His Dad came out and told me about his working on being clean and going through rehab with specific instructions not to drive to live in his dad's house. The car was the boys girlfriends car.
I called Meals on Wheels, using his phone, and MOW came and got the meals to finish my route.
I chewed the boy out multiple times and told him to 'Get your f***ing act together' Your parents and girlfriend are doing what they can but you just turn around and steal a car and rear ended me. IF I CALL 911 You are in jail for rear ending me and running away. A coward runs away.
I would then get my composure and then go back and chew him out again.
I finally found my cell phone. It was under the seat. It flew when I got rear ended.
I will be checking on the boy and dad in the future. I will ask the dad (and him) if I did the thing by not calling the police. If he improves his ways, I was correct in giving him a break. If he continues to act stupid and drive, I should have called the police.
They promised to pay for any damage to the car. (2012 Honda Civics have amazing bumpers. There was only a scratch on the bumper. I am totally amazed at the lack of damage. When I finally looked at the bumper, after yelling at him twice, I was amazed at only a scratch. I opened and closed the trunk thinking it would be messed up but NO. It worked fine.

A Republican lawmaker who promoted legislation to teach
“abstinence-only” sex education in schools announced that his own
unmarried high school-aged daughter has gotten pregnant.
Bill Cassidy, a state Senator from Louisiana released a statement to NOLA.com announcing that he was to be a grandfather and expressing his support for his daughter during this “challenging” time:
“Earlier this year, Laura and I learned we will become
grandparents this summer. Our children have been the greatest blessing
of our lives and we welcome our grandchild as a joyous addition to our
family. Our daughter now faces a more challenging future than her peers.
She has our unconditional love and support.”
Cassidy has made a name for himself as somewhat of a “abstinence-only” crusader. Last year, he co-sponsored the Abstinence-Only Reallocation Act,
which would award grants and special funding to public and private
schools which stuck to teaching only abstinence instead of a more
comprehensive lesson plan on sexual behavior. The bill, authored by
perennial bad ideas machine Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC), has been tabled
in Congress, but Louisiana teens aren’t in the clear.
Despite efforts by some legislators to address this problem,
Louisiana is one of the leading abstinence-only promoters in the
country. In roughly one-third of all schools in the state,
students are taught exclusively abstinence. No safe sex. No birth
control. Nothing but “Don’t do it.” And you know how good kids are at
listening to adults when they tell them not to do something…
It might explain why Louisiana currently has the 6th highest teen pregnancy rate in the nation. And while most of the country has been seeing major declines in teen births, Louisiana’s has hardly changed.
Now, it appears Cassidy’s own daughter contributes to those statistics.
A federal appeals court on Thursday said a National Security Agency
program that collected the records of millions of Americans' phone
calls was not authorized by Congress.
The 2nd
U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said a lower court judge erred in
dismissing a lawsuit challenging the program's constitutionality, and
returned the case to the judge for further proceedings. It also upheld
the denial of a preliminary injunction to block the collection of phone
records under the program.
Thursday's decision
vacated a December 2013 dismissal of an American Civil Liberties Union
lawsuit contending that the NSA's collection of "bulk telephony
metadata" violated the bar against warrantless searches under the
Fourth Amendment.
There’s no denying it: Operation Jade Helm 15 has moved firmly into mainstream media.
The
new military exercise has spawned widespread conspiracy theories since
news of it first leaked in March. The exercise across several states in
the Southwest is expected to include elite service members from four
military branches. That has prompted fears of martial law, among other

California's historic drought is having a major impact on the state's forests.
According to an aerial survey conducted last month by the U.S. Forest Service, approximately 12 million forest trees
have died in Southern California and the southern Sierra Nevada
mountains over the last year. The report credits unusually high
temperatures, a diminished snowpack and a severe lack of rainfall with drying up the trees, leaving the region susceptible to forest fires.
Of the more than 4.2 million acres surveyed in Southern California,
researchers found 164,000 acres with high tree mortality. They found
approximately 2 million trees had died over the last year.
In the southern Sierras,
researchers found over 10 million perished trees in 4.1 million acres.
There, mortality is "widespread and severe" in the foothills among
ponderosa, gray pine, blue oak and live oak trees.
Jeffrey Moore, the acting aerial survey program manager for the region, told the Los Angeles Times he expects the mass tree mortality to continue throughout the summer.
“It
is almost certain that millions more trees will die over the course of
the upcoming summer as the drought situation continues and becomes ever
more long term and as bark beetle populations continue to expand," he said.
For Western mountain towns, where climate change has shortened the
ski season, diminished the snowpack, and increased fire risks, the fair
value of coal is a serious question.
Coal, when burned, is a major carbon emitter, and is increasingly
being mined out of publicly-owned lands in the Rockies. But a group of
11 ski towns is now fighting back against cheap Western coal, the cost
of which they say is being kept low due to a federal loophole.
Organized under the Mountain Pact, the group of towns, which includes Park City, Utah and Telluride and Aspen, Colorado, sent a letter
Tuesday to Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, urging her to close
the loophole, which they say costs taxpayers a billion dollars every
year in lost revenue.
It's a very easy game to play. All you have to do is catch

The
Reagan and George W. Bush tax cuts of 1981, 2001, and 2003,
respectively, were sold to America as ways to boost the economy and
create jobs.
They ended up boosting the take-home pay of those at the top. Most Americans saw no gains.
In
fact, the long stagnation of American wages began with Reaganomics.
Wages rose a bit under Bill Clinton, and then started plummeting again
under George W. Bush.
A 10-year-old pregnant with her stepfather’s child will not be
allowed to get an abortion because the government of Paraguay doesn’t
believe that her life in immediate danger.
On April 23, the unnamed girl was reportedly checked into the
hospital by her mother. She complained of stomach pains and tests showed
she was already 21-weeks pregnant. Earlier this week, her mother
apparently requested her daughter be given an abortion, and when it was
revealed that her stepfather impregnated her, the mother was taken into
custody.
Doctors requested permission to perform the procedure. In Paraguay,
abortions can’t be performed in the case of rape or incest, and only if
the government decides that a life is in danger. In this case they
decided it wasn’t.
So not only did this innocent child suffer the trauma of sexual abuse at
the hands of her stepfather, but now she is expected to carry his baby
to term. Which for a ten year old child is a prospect fraught with
danger.
If I were, this is the sign I would put in my door.

candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) refused to play the media’s smear
Hillary Clinton game, but he unloaded on the Koch brothers and other
right-wing billionaires who are trying to buy the government.
Yesterday Bernie Sanders officially announced his candidacy
for President of the United States, becoming the first challenger to
Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. The left-wing populist from
Vermont mounted his campaign because “America needs a political
revolution.”

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby gave an update on the
investigation into the death of Freddie Gray, the 25-year-old who died
after suffering a spinal cord injury while in police custody in April,
calling his death a homicide.
"We have probable cause to file criminal charges," Mosby said in a press conference Friday.
Charges including second degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and
assault, among others, will be filed against the officers involved in
Gray's arrest, Mosby said.
Mosby noted that "no crime had been committed by Mr. Gray." Police
had said Gray was arrested for possessing a switchblade, but Mosby said
Friday the knife in Gray's possession was not a switchblade and was
lawful, and said officers "illegally arrested" Gray.
I did my usual Friday, send the pictures and ITEMIZED invoice of charges and Grandma M wants me to work with her on the Towing incident which stole her car while she was picking up our Grandkids.
I turned the letters over to the Receptionists and then asked if I could get a full copy of the illegal picture request form because my printer did not print the whole thing. Charles White, Administrator then came over to me and pushed me out of the office and was screaming at me to get off the property.
I walked as he pushed me onto the sidewalk. He said he was going to call the police. I told him that is fine. I asked him if he was Charles and he said YES. I told him 'Hi, we were emailing back and forth this past week.' HE BLEW A GASKET AND STARTED YELLING LOUDER AND LOUDER AND GETTING READY TO POKE or punch me." His body guard came between he and I. I told him if he hits me I will file assault charges.
His bodyguard ( 300 lb fellow in great suit) got in between Charles and I. Charles wanted to hit me and I wish he would have so I could have filed assault charges.
The Bodyguard kind of guided Charles to his blinged out Escalade with Great Wheels and the body guard said I should probably leave. I said I would but he said he called the police and I would wait fot 10 minutes to see if the police showed up.
I waited and left.
Since, I have been told I that I will be arrested if I go onto their business property. I said they needed to get a restraining order and we need to go in front of a judge. He shot back that I would be arrested for Trespass and I said I have never been arrested for Trespass before. I told him I would deliver two NOTORIZED LETTERS NEXT WEEK. 1. The letter allowing me to work with Grandma M on her towing issue and 2 the Notorized Release of Photo info with the HOLD HARMLESS crossed out.
(I also mentioned to him that Grandma M owns the photos because she paid for them when she picked up the car. She should have been given them when she picked up the car. THE HOLD HARMLESS is ILLEGAL IN OREGON and was outlawed with the 2007 towing law.
I will show up next week and talk to the police and maybe end up in court.

I did get a few pictures of Charles White, the fellow who loves to yell. (I had 2 police officers tell me he yells and screams and nothing else. They chuckled when I mentioned his name and said good luck. The police also mentioned the Annoyance Fee and I want to find someone who got an annoyance fee put onto them.
I will back any Democrat but I am so pleased that Bernie Sanders is in to keep the focus on the middle class and poor instead of doing what is wanted by the wealthiest.
In my opinion the entire article is a revelation, but this part stuck with me:
Many of the battles he brought me along to witness, he lost. And no
normal politician would be comfortable with the optics of bringing a
Rolling Stone reporter to a Rules Committee hearing.
But Sanders genuinely, sincerely, does not care about optics. He is
the rarest of Washington animals, a completely honest person. If he's
motivated by anything other than a desire to use his influence to
protect people who can't protect themselves, I've never seen it. Bernie
Sanders is the kind of person who goes to bed at night thinking about
how to increase the heating-oil aid program for the poor.
This is why his entrance into the 2016 presidential race is a great
thing and not a mere footnote to the inevitable coronation of Hillary
Clinton as the Democratic nominee. If the press is smart enough to grasp
it, his entrance into the race makes for a profound storyline that
could force all of us to ask some very uncomfortable questions.
You know it is articles like this which makes me wish that Bernie
Sanders could actually win the nomination over Hillary Clinton and
defeat Jeb Bush in the general.
But the truth is he can't.
He is probably the perfect candidate, at the perfect time, but he is hampered by an incredibly imperfect election system.

If one persists in channeling Dr. King in these conversations about urban unrest, it should be done with great care.
King elaborated on the relationship of urban disorder to the
struggle for full human rights and dignity for black American in his
"The Other America" speech where he stated that:

think America must see that riots do not develop out of thin air.
Certain conditions continue to exist in our society which must be
condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots. But in the final analysis, a
riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that America has
failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the Negro poor
has worsened over the last few years. It has failed to hear that the
promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to
hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about
tranquility and the status quo than about justice, equality, and
humanity. And so in a real sense our nation’s summers of riots are

postpones justice, we stand in the position of having these recurrences
of violence and riots over and over again. Social justice and progress

New statements from the Baltimore man who was imprisoned with Freddie
Gray in a police van on the night of Gray’s death contradict
authorities’ account of the night in question, a local television
reporter told MSNBC host Chris Hayes on Thursday.
“The key thing to take away is, he did not see Mr. Gray, he couldn’t
have seen Mr. Gray,” WBAL-TV’s Jayne Miller said of Donta Allen, who was
listed as a source in a police document
indicating that Gray purposefully injured himself on the night in
question. “I asked him, ‘Did you hear [Gray] say anything?’ He didn’t
hear him say anything.”
