Republicans Admit They DON’T CARE If Poor People Lose Health Care
Almost every credible health care expert in our country is terrified of the health care reform plans Republicans are putting forward.
The Republicans are obsessed with repealing Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act, even though millions of Americans benefit from it. Without Obamacare, people could literally die.
The House Republicans released their health care policy ideas last week and it’s bad news for working families, senior citizens, and poor Americans. It would cut funding for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, which many millions rely on to get health care coverage.
Exactly how many people would the Republican health care policy hurt? With this plan, Republicans are basically they don’t even care! The New York Times reports:
The paper is Mr. Ryan’s blueprint for effectively repealing and replacing Obamacare. Unsurprisingly, he and his colleagues offered no estimates of how many people would lose coverage or how much premiums and deductibles would rise for middle-class and poor families. Yet those missing details did not stop the Trump administration’s top health official from embracing the proposal. Tom Price, the secretary of health and human services and a former Ryan lieutenant in the House, said the president “is all in on this.”
… Americans want legislation that improves health care and makes it more affordable for everyone, not the opposite.
The Republicans are in a hurry to undo the progress that Barack Obama made during his eight years in office. Sad!
