Don the Despot desperately wants control. Not just of the White House, but also the nation and everyone in it. He’s been in office less than a week and already he is acting like a petulant child, snatching away other childrens’ toys so he can break them.
For some odd reason, after the National Park Service Twitter account retweeted articlescomparing Trump’s inauguration to Obama’s, Don Trump, international man of WTF, ordered them to cease sharing information with the public and on social media. The departments of interior, transportation and human services were also impacted by Trump’ executive gag order.
One particular park ignored the order, continuing to send out tweets before they were removed. The next morning a new Twitter account was born. @altUsNatParkService was created to act as a private liaison to the public, using social media as its platform. The account already has, as of this writing, 479,000 followers, and is happily tweeting away the very things Trump is so afraid of being made public. Things like information about climate change from NASA, appeals for public support for public parks, and neener neeners to Dr StrangeTrump.
Trump, after his usual morning hissy fit, will be continuing to try to illegally quell the constitutional rights of Americans. The GOP leadership in Congress will pretend to wring their hands, secretly glad that he is doing just what they want, or so they think…until someone stops him. We just don’t know how soon that will be. Until then, we need to act like a certain spunky space princess and tell our Sith Lord that the more he tries to tighten his grip, the more of us will slip through his fingers.
