Fox News is widely recognized as little more than a propaganda arm for the Republican party, unconvincingly dressed up as “fair and balanced” mainstream news.
It’s shocking, then, that one of the network’s most prominent reporters Shepard Smith would go out of his way to slam President Donald Trump for his blatant lying, as he recently did on his program.
On Shepard Smith Reporting, host Smith welcomed fellow conservative RealClearPolitics associate editor A.B. Stoddard and they made short work of Trump’s indefensible lying. They brought up Trump’s baseless allegations of voter fraud, which Trump in classic petty fashion claimed cost him the popular vote. Asserted Shep, “It is the reporting of Fox News that widespread voter fraud did not happen. There’s no evidence that widespread voter fraud happened, there never has been.” Stated Stoddard, “If this was the biggest, most widespread voter fraud ever, why wouldn’t he investigate it? It seemed as if that was the response this morning so that Sean Spicer wouldn’t have to continue to answer questions about that.” Answered Smith, “The list of falsehoods from the president is growing.”
Stated Stoddard, “It’s really unfortunate with all of the flurry of activity that he’s embarked on in terms of policy measures this week that he has stepped on his own story about the crowd assessments that were demonstrably false and sending his press secretary out to lie on Saturday night. It hinders his credibility around the world and the credibility of our democracy.” How bad does it look for Trump now that even Fox News is openly slamming him? Watch
