Rachel Maddow interviews Kellyanne Conway - Well worth seeing!!! Real Journalism

Donald Trump gets the vast majority of the attention (and rightfully so) for the seemingly endless list of disgusting things he’s said and done, but there are a lot of people “behind the man” who are integral parts of this embarrassing circus we’ve all come to know and loathe since he launched his campaign over a year and a half ago. One of those people is former campaign manager, and soon-to-be “counselor to the president” (whatever the hell that means), Kellyanne Conway. I’m not going to lie, there’s something about Conway that absolutely weirds me out. When I see her give interviews, it’s as if she’s some sort of pod person who’s been programmed to regurgitate some of the most asinine “answers” to questions I’ve ever seen. One of the best displays of this I’ve ever seen happened Thursday night when Rachel Maddow spent her entire show interviewing this woman in what was one of the most entertaining and infuriating 60 minutes of televisions I’ve watched in a very long time. While I know watching anyone spewing pro-Trump propaganda is incredibly difficult, trust me when I say this interview is worth every minute. This was an hour-long interview where Conway didn’t answer hardly any questions Maddow asked of her, while often the “answers” she did give had absolutely nothing to do with the question that was asked. That or the response was something that wasn’t based on any version of reality in which sane people live. For instance, when Maddow asked about Trump pushing a lie that NBC reporter Martha Raddatz cried the night he was elected, Conway claimed everyone associated with Trump has “enormous respect” for her. That’s when the MSNBC host reminded Conway that telling thousands of people a blatant lie in an obvious attempt to slander a particular reporter is not showing “enormous respect” for that person. Maddow then asked if Trump planned to apologize to Raddatz for pushing a flat-out lie against her. That’s when — and I kid you not — Conway claimed that those types of decisions don’t happen in public. At which point Maddow shot back saying, “The accusation was made publicly.” Later, Conway insisted that Trump’s frequent attacks on the press are about a desire for truth and holding reporters accountable who lie about things he’s said and done. “I’ve never seen a First Family trying to put newspapers out of business through a novel legal strategy,” Maddow said after reminding Conway that every president feels the press isn’t being honest about them at some point. Conway then insisted — and again, I’m not joking — that eight years ago people weren’t discussing negative things associated with President Obama. Wow.  Does she not remember Republicans claiming President Obama: Wasn’t an American (a lie Trump pushed for years). Lived under an alias. Was a socialist/communist/Marxist. Wasn’t Christian. Hated white people. Was un-American. Wanted to “redistribute wealth.” Wanted to have the government take over health care and install death panels. The ridiculous list of lies Republicans used (and still use) against this president since well before he ever took his Oath of Office is well-documented. So, for Conway to imply that the right wasn’t losing their minds after Barack Obama won is ludicrous. Though, as I’ve pointed out before, the big difference is that what Republicans feared about President Obama was a long list of ridiculous lies — what we all fear about Donald Trump are facts that we’ve taken from him word for word. This entire interview was Conway offering lie after lie, and excuse after excuse, to defend the fact that Trump seems to believe he lives by a different set of rules than everyone else and the actual reality of what he says and does is somehow a distortion of the truth by the media — even though they’re quoting him verbatim. Like I said earlier, if you get some time, please watch as much of the interview as you can. This was one of the best examples of the absolutely delusional and fictitious world in which Donald Trump lives and thrives that I’ve ever seen. Watch the interview
