Ninety days for an obvious hate crime? Oh wait, he's White.
Donald Trump's hate speech is reaching far and wide across our country, most recently in Richmond, California where a 55 year old man was arrested on December 20th for posting threats to Muslims on his Facebook page and harassing members of a mosque in his community.
KRON4 reports that William Celli made verbal and online threats against Muslims in recent months and had posted that he supported Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and that he would follow him to “the end of the world.” On other Facebook posts, Celli expressed rage about the number of Muslims moving to the U.S., stating “Kiss your Christian asses good bye. And all other non-believers of the Koran.”
What would Jesus say?
Celli was arrested after police he was observed screaming “I’m going to kill you all” outside the Islamic Society of West Contra Costa County. Detectives executed a search warrant of his home and found a suspicious device appearing to be a pipe bomb. Yikes. It was detonated and he was taken into custody. Since this incident, the mosque has made the decision to hire private security guards for safety.
Celli took a plea deal this past week, reports the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. Celli admitted that he attempted to violate the free exercise of civil rights. The original charge was for making criminal threats with a hate crime enhancement and possession of an explosive device, but those were dropped as part of the plea deal. His sentence? Lengthy jail time, clearly.
Oh wait, he is white and this was Richmond. 90 days jail (he won't serve that whole time, though), three years probation. He also can't have a Facebook for a "period of time" and he must attend anger management classes.
You can imagine what the charge would be if a Muslim threatened a Christian church with the same exact words and weapons.
But this jerk will be out just in time to vote for his hero, Herr Trump.
