EUGENE, Ore. - Several gathered at the Old Federal Building in downtown Eugene Saturday to tell the occupants in Harney County they are not welcome in Oregon. Coordinators hosted what they call a day of action throughout the state.
Police officers kept a close eye on the protesters as a safety precaution, but both parties said they're passionate about what's going on in Harney County.
"We want to give people the opportunity to voice, to kind of speak to the folks in Harney County," said Ken Neubeck, the event coordinator.
Coordinators of the day of action said they are telling the militia in burns that they are not welcome.
"I think it has no place in Oregon," Neubeck said.
