OPEN CARRY DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEMS OF GUN VIOLENCE. IF IT DID, THE “OLD WEST” WOULD HAVE BEEN DEPICTED AS A CRIME-FREE UTOPIA.

Open carry causes more harm than good, and there are real concrete examples of this.

1: In Colorado, a mass shooting was enabled because open carry laws prevented cops from doing anything about a disturbed person walking around outdoors with a gun. He ended up shooting 3 people dead in the streets before cops finally decided they could engage him. Open carry laws allowed this murderer to get to his targets and position himself to kill – LEGALLY.

2: A man in Michigan threw students, teachers, parents and a community into a panic when he was “exercising his rights” to carry a gun near a school. Police showed up, questioned the man, and let him go because nothing he did was illegal. He could have terrorized the school for the rest of the year if he wanted to press the issue. Cops couldn’t do a thing to stop him no matter how many children he frightened.

3: Employees at a Fort Worth Jack-In-The-Box restaurant wereterrified as a group of “open carry enthusiasts” were gathering outside their establishment, carrying assault rifles. They employees called the police and locked themselves in the freezer. One of the open carriers said, “We’re not breaking the laws. We’re not here to hurt anybody. We’re not trying to alarm anybody. We’re doing this because it’s our constitutional right.” Here is a hint. They are ALWAYS trying to alarm someone. They want to alarm gun control activists, lawmakers, and various other people.

4: A man was terrorizing a little league game in Georgia when he was not only openly carrying a gun – but he was also flashing it around and showing it to people. The man kept approaching individuals and showing them his gun, then mocking them by saying there was nothing they could do about his behavior. Sadly, he was right. Police were called 22 times, and nothing was done to stop him.

5: In Mississippi, police were powerless to stop an individual from not only taking a shotgun into a Wal-Mart, but also openly loading it in view of other customers. Again police were called. They showed up and did absolutely nothing due to open carry laws protecting the terrorist. The cops even admitted they wished they could have done more, but the law tied their hands.

Since open carry is doing nothing to address gun violence in America, other than compelling people to buy more guns, the next logical step is “open pointing.” This is where you can walk around pointing your loaded gun at people to be sure that they understand you mean business.
