Seth Meyers just made an assertion sure to make conservative heads explode. There’s almost no group of people right now that the GOP and their followers hate more than Muslims, and the 2016 Clown Car candidates have been using their ignorant base’s fear of brown people and religions different from theirs to stir up hate and resentment for votes. So, to that end, Meyers’ statements will definitely enrage them.
On the most recent edition of his show, Meyers took aim at the ridiculousness that was the latest GOP debate. He began:
“(Tuesday) night’s Republican debate focused on the themes of terrorism and foreign policy, and it’s a good thing, too, because during the debate, I spotted nine people who had definitely been radicalized by ISIS.”
After rolling tape of almost every person on stage insisting that he or she would be the candidate that would “destroy ISIS,” Meyers went on to point out that none of them had any plan to actually accomplish the goal of taking down the Islamic State. In fact, Ted Cruz simply said, “we win, they lose,” with no details whatsoever as to what he was going to do to make that happen. Meyers continued:
“I bet things were pretty tense at ISIS headquarters (Tuesday) night. Slow down — what, did he say the plan was? They win and we lose? Oh man, oh man, oh man. This is bad. This is bad if that is their plan, because that is a very good plan.”
Meyers is beyond hilarious here, but he wasn’t done yet. He went on to take aim at Trump, who he said has “sunk even lower” by doubling doing on his assertions that the United States needs to kill the families of people with suspected terrorist ties. He said it reminded him of mobster Al Capone.
“That’s Al Capone, U.S. foreign policy advisor,” he continued.
