President Barack Obama slammed Scott Walker’s criticism of his Iran deal in a NPR interview released Tuesday. The Wisconsin governor, a frontrunner to win the Republican nomination for president, has pledged to dismiss our nuclear deal with Iran on his first day as commander-in-chief.
Obama called Walker’s pledge “foolish” and suggested the governor will agree with him after he has had a chance to “bone up” on foreign policy.
In a March interview with right wing radio host, Hugh Hewitt, the governor said he would reject the Iran deal on day one of a Walker presidency.
“The concept of a nuclear Iran is not only problematic for Iran, and certainly for Israel, but it opens the doors,” said Walker. “You’re going to have plenty others in the region… They’re going to want to have a nuclear weapon if the Iranians have a nuclear weapon.”
