Jon Stewart compares New Congress to Herpes

There are good reasons why Congress currently has a 14 percent approval rating.
Congress returned to Capitol Hill yesterday for their first meeting of the year. Pointing to the fact that they waited until noon on the Tuesday after New Years to begin proceedings, Jon Stewart advised viewers not to get their hopes up.
As Stewart noted, Congress currently has a 14 percent approval rating, and an astonishingly high 95 percent incumbency rate. "That's the same recurrence ratio enjoyed by the herpes virus!"
It's easy to understand his skepticism, given that the Republicans' stated goal after gaining control of both branches is "to not appear scary" and Jim Inhofe, the 80-year-old chair of the Senate's Environment Committee, believes that "global warming is the greatest hoax ever played on the American people."
