Cars are useful for transporting things,
including people, from one place to another. They’re very good at this;
you’ve probably used one to get somewhere before without dying.
Occasionally, people die because they are in car crashes. That is when something goes wrong with a car. Someone dies when they are shot by a gun because the gun has functioned correctly. Killing people is what guns are meant to do.
It’s also worth mentioning that cars are
highly regulated. You need a license to operate one, which you can only
obtain after proving you have been properly schooled in its use. Each
car is marked with a unique, highly visible tag that makes it easy to
track down when someone misuses one. They are inspected and subject to
many safety regulations. Asking the same of machines meant solely for
dealing death, and nothing so useful as driving to store to grab some
milk, seems reasonable enough.
This has been the difference between cars and guns.
