Juanita Jean: Texas Republican David Dewhurst insists his relative be let out of jail.

Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst called the Allen police department to get the woman out of jail, saying such delightfully loaded things such as, “Sergeant, you don’t know me, but every year I’m the No. 1 pick of all the law enforcement agencies in Texas. I’m the No. 1 pick, and I want you to do whatever is the proper thing,”

Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst personally called police and asked to talk to the highest-ranking officer about getting a relative out of jail, Allen police said.
