As I was working with an attorney to prepare the Original Petition
for filing in Federal Court, I received yesterday a letter from A.T.
Smith, the Deputy Director of the U.S. Secret Service, a Division of
Homeland Security, proposing a resolution, similar to my letter of June
25th. Mr. Smith has agreed to provide, within 5 days, the statement of
David Chaney concerning the allegation that Todd Palin introduced him to
Shailey Tripp and the assertion that he engaged in sexual relations for
money with Shailey Tripp. In consideration for the voluntary production
of this information, I have agreed not to file suit, and for a period
of 6 months to refrain from filing any new FOIA requests with the Secret
Service or Homeland Security pertaining to David Chaney, Shailey Tripp,
Sarah Palin, and Todd Palin.
