The Debt: Concern is way overblown.

I bought a house and carry a loan.  I have two credit cards and carry debt with those.  The country is the same - debt happens but we need to keep it at a reasonable level.  We happened to start TWO WARS AND START AN UNPAID PRESCRIPTION PROGRAM AS WELL AS TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHIEST and put it all on a credit card which RAN OUT DEBT WAY out of sight for President Obama to deal with.
