Mendenhall Lake and Glacier before the rain.

This is Mendenhall Lake and Mendenhall Glacier before the 5 days of rain we have been getting. The snow is now gone and there is no longer snow on the ice covering the lake. We have an inch of water on top of the ice - rain water. We have had 40 degrees in Juneau the past 5 days or so.

I really appreciate your photos on Mendenhall glacier. I have been capturing the posted public digital pictures from the ranger station for my daily recordings, time lapse..but unfortunately the ranger station equipment have been off-line since Nov 17th...the day after the first snow fall. Your pictures brings a clear picture of the winter season.

Thank you so much,

Kind regards,

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures. I have been keeping track on the Mendenhall Glacier throughout the year 2010 and unfortunately the Mendenhall Glacier Center digital Cam went down as of Nov 17th but I capture everyday since then...and the first snow fall. Your pictures brings me into the current appearance and status of the glacier.

Thank you,
