We have had the regional HS basketball tournament since Wednesday and I have been spending lots of time at school. No pictures up. I hope to get some up tomorrow but no guarantees - my computer died. I still have the school computer but it does not have all the pictures on it.
At the game today I asked kids who just came into the school. "Is it warm outside?" they would say, "Yes, very hot." IT WAS 20 degrees outside - WARM!

Thats awesome. Goes to show that the subcutaneous chemoreceptors we have only respond to a change in temperature and not absolute temperature! Otherwise, we would not climatize!
I was going to say that but I couldn't spell subcutaneous and the other word either. I meant exactly what you said.
Whatever Ashley, my mouth can noteven say those words much less know what you said.LOL....but it must mean adaptable to your surroundings.
20 degrees.we would more than likely stay in the house because it's to darn cold out side. I am just a sissy.
Kids in Emo go outside and play hide an seek and have fun at 20 degrees. Then they go inside and it is too hot, so they run outise and play again. I am wearing 1 coat and a beany cap with gloves on and off. It really does seem warmer. My face gets cold after 15 minutes though.
If the wind blows, then it gets cold quickly. It is a DRY COLD - not a wet cold, which makes a big difference.
Ok. Tell your kids that it was 67 degrees farenheit here today when we went to Home Depot. The wind was blowing, making it feel 60 or so. A middle-aged man ahead of us was wearing snow boots and one of those fantastic Alaskan fur hats. Of course, he was also wearing shorts in true Californian style. So, that's a taste of aclimation for you on the opposite side of the spectrum.
