This is another picture of Emmonak at 9:30 AM.

The smoky stuff is my breath - it makes a cloud instantly. -14 below zero.

Dad, what on earth are you doing wandering away from the village on cracking ice in the dark??? Ok, your most motherly daughter (a contestable point) has spoken! No crazy stuff up there, Pa. We want you back in one piece.

Hi Tricia,

It is safe. The water level is going down and the crack is happening because of it. I can guarantee that I will be back in one piece.

Haha. Tricia I pretty much said the same thing under another picture!

He moved to the middle of nowhere to get away from our nagging- then Ash sets up a blog and ruins it! Hahaha.

If we're not careful, he'll be taking a job in rural Namibia, Africa next year where I guarantee there is no wireless connection to keep his blogging, naggy daughters at bay! I can see it now, from smog to polar bears to lions - the three years following retirement and the desperation that comes with trying to kick the mud off your shoes.

Anybody else wondering what kind of crazy woman scoping a handsome single man would have any interest in Dad with his three nosey daughters?

Probably someone like us, I'd imagine! Crazys! And let me just say--this word verification thing is really annoying!!
