Climate Change: Warming Report Sees Major Problems

Starvation, poverty, flooding, heat waves, droughts, war and disease already lead to human tragedies. They're likely to worsen as the world warms from man-made climate change, a leaked draft of an international scientific report forecasts.
The Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will issue a report next March on how global warming is already affecting the way people live and what will happen in the future, including a worldwide drop in income.

In the aftermath of the government shutdown created by the intransigence of the House, the Republican Party's polling has been unquestionably abysmal. A majority of the country believes it's a bad thing they control the House of Representatives; three-quarters of the country believes that Republican members of Congress don't deserve reelection; and by a nearly four-to-one margin, Americans think that Republicans in Congress care more about their own ideological pursuits than about the country as a whole.

But also in today’s news, is a report peer-reviewed study, authored by the Public Library of Science, that has uncovered a serious connection.  According to PLOS,

“Symbolic racism was related to having a gun in the home and opposition to gun control policies in US whites. The findings help explain US whites’ paradoxical attitudes towards gun ownership and gun control. Such attitudes may adversely influence US gun control policy debates and decisions.”

Rice, fish, beef and other Japanese exports poisoned by nuclear power’s single worst nightmare is doubtless being consumed in the United States.
Gordon Edwards, president of the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility, told Canada’s CTVnews that the 1,000 Bq/kg allowance is dangerous. “It has to be recognized that even Health Canada acknowledges that even those level correspond to an increased cancer risk of eight cancers per 1,000 people exposed over a 70-year period. So these are not safe levels, even by Health Canada’s own standards,” he said.

In Texas, they just closed a third of the clinics which provide abortion services.  This past Friday, Food Stamps were cut by 5 Billion dollars at a time when a quarter of people on Food Stamps are kids.  So, You must have the unwanted or unaffordable children but we will not allow them to eat.  Then we have the ongoing GOP craziness to stop the child and parent from getting reasonably priced medical insurance.

Forcing mothers to bring unwanted children into the world so that congress can starve the poor ones?

For weeks I’ve been wondering why no one is talking about how Republicans sabotaged the ACA rollout by refusing to implement state run marketplaces, and thus unexpectedly forcing all of that additional burden on to the federal website.

It reminded me of Republicans denying security funding for Benghazi and then blaming Obama and Clinton for the lack of security in Benghazi. The media were oddly uninterested in that alarming fact.
But today, Todd Purdum at Politico exposed how Republicans sabotaged the ACA rollout. One small part of their plan was the rejection of the state run exchanges.

'60 MINUTES' CBS, did an expose on Benghazi. THE INFORMANT WAS TELLING LIES! Oh boy.

But according to the Post, "Jones," whose real name was confirmed as Dylan Davies, revealed none of those details in the incident report to his security contractor employer that he wrote following the attack. Instead, he wrote that he never got near the compound that night and learned of Stevens' death from a colleague. From the Post: 

In Davies's 21 / 2-page incident report to Blue Mountain, the Britain-based contractor hired by the State Department to handle perimeter security at the compound, he wrote that he spent most of that night at his Benghazi beach-side villa. A woman senselessly died today leaving a 10 year old without a mother. (She would not get a blood transpant bc of religion)

Today a young woman died leaving a 10 year old child without a mother.

She WOULD NOT allow a blood transplant because she is a Jehovah Witness.  She has had health issues since the age of 10.

They gave her some experimental treatment to produce her own blood and it did not work at first.  After a couple of days, it started to work again but she suddenly regressed and lost the fight today.

All of this could have been prevented if she had a blood transplant.

There is now a 10 year old child without a mom.  The child's whole world is dramatically altered because of not allowing a blood transfusion.

The believers will say that 'Jesus wanted her"
They will also say that the NonBelievers did not pray hard enough and killed her.

A Religion which does not allow a minor medical procedure to save a life is immoral in my mind.

Ignoring the obvious: The Govt Shutdown was a MUCH BIGGER DEAL than the Web site mess.

Forty-four percent report following the fight over the federal government shutdown and raising the debt ceiling “very closely,” while just 22% “say they’ve paid close attention to news about the website problems with the insurance exchanges.”
In fact, more people paid attention to efforts to account for and destroy Syria’s chemical weapons at 23% than paid attention to the “glitches”, and Americans don’t pay attention to foreign policy.

Here's just one example: Yum Brands owns KFC and Taco Bell. The company was a spin-off of Pepsi. All Yum Brands restaurants sell only Pepsi products because of a lifetime deal with the soda-maker.
$84 billion company Proctor & Gamble owns companies that produce everything from detergent to toothpaste. Unilever produces everything from Dove soap to Klondike bars.
