Stephen Colbert just eviscerated President Trump for his scandal-ridden week. The Late Night host, Stephen Colbert, is back again after Trump had one of the worst weeks of his presidency. Colbert highlighted the Presidents disastrous week in one hilarious and disturbing clip.
Colbert said of the Trump administration’s past week: “Donald Trump admitted to firing the man in charge of investigating his Russian ties, then he met with Russian diplomats—a meeting that was arranged by Vladimir Putin and which we only saw because Russian photographers were in there to take photos, and at that meeting he admits he gave Russian diplomats classified information.” Seriously, that’s what happened.
Colbert continued, “For perspective on this, let’s go live to presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. Doris, what’s your reaction?” He then cuts to a “What’s happening?” clip from the film Poltergeist. Which is pretty much how all of America feels right now. Is this the Twilight Zone or a bad dream?
Colbert went on to point out Trump’s fellow Republican, Senator Bob Corker’s, statement where he said that the White House is in a “downward spiral.” Colbert goes on to say, “Corker wasn’t the only one angry about mishandling classified info. Another top Republican weighed in, and he did not mince words.” Colbert then cuts to a clip of Trump himself addressing his supporters at a campaign rally:
Trump then shouts: “We can’t have someone in the Oval Office who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word ‘confidential’ or ‘classified.'” Colbert concluded with: “I gotta say, and I don’t care if this is taken out of context. I completely agree with Donald Trump.” Watch the full clip
