More ice and we have REAL SNOW!

These are pictures of the ice from the previous weekend. The stream is just ice.

In the past 16 hours of so, we have gotten about 8 inches of snow. It is real snow and the trees look like a Christmas scene.

Silver Back Brown Bear in Hoonah, AK (Grizzly Bear)

I downloaded some pictures onto the computer and found this video of the Grizzly at Hoonah. I forgot all about it.
WARMING - IT COULD MAKE YOU DIZZY! i was riding in an ATV on a bumpy road. We were trying to catch up to the bear to get a look. This bear is estimated to weight 450 pounds.
The fellow I was with had bear spray but he said he did not feel it works very well. When we got out of the ATV, he forgot the bear spray anyway. This is my encounter with a Grizzly Bear in AK. It is only like 17 seconds long.

I got within about 8 to 10 feet of this Eagle

I was hiking around Mendenhall Glacier and I saw this eagle eating a salmon. I got closer and closer. It was interesting.
The fish is what he was eating. He flew off, I walked by his fish and then he returned to eat more. Nice day to be out and about.

Treadwell Mine 2

More Treadwell Mine ruins shots. This mine was operational until about 1910. It had a big cave in which ended operations.
