ORDER REPRINT OF THIS STORY
The readers have spoken and ... it’s not good news for Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback.
This week’s Monday Poll focused on who should be held responsible for the current impasse over school funding in Kansas.
In one of the most popular polls ever, 4,200 responses rolled in. The full results:
1. The Kansas Supreme Court should stop telling the Legislature how to appropriate money for K-12 schools.
2. Gov. Sam Brownback should call the Legislature back into a special session soon so lawmakers can approve a constitutional education funding plan.
3. Kansas voters should send a message to the Supreme Court, as Republican leaders have called for, and oust some or all of the five justices up for retention in the November general election.
4. Brownback and the Legislature need to repeal the 2012 income tax cuts so the state can adequately support public schools.
