Kansas has lost their fu**ing minds. Judges can be impeached with a new bill.

Kansas lawmakers have officially lost any remaining semblance of sanity and are pushing a new law that would allow the legislature to impeach any judge who enters a ruling they find issue with, which would essentially nullify the state’s entire judicial system.

Senate Bill 439,  is set to be voted on by the senate this Tuesday. If passed, this law “would make ‘attempting to usurp the power’ of the Legislature or the executive branch grounds for impeachment.”

According to Republican Sen. Dennis Pyle, a sponsor of the measure, impeachment has been “been a little-used tool” for dealing with judges who refuse to bow down to the demands of lawmakers. “Maybe it needs to be oiled up a little bit or sharpened a little bit,” he suggested.

This bill is just the latest move in a continuing saga that has been playing out in Kansas since Gov. Sam Brownback and a supermajority of ultra-conservative Republicans took control of both houses in 2010.
