The GOP is dead and fractured into 6 warring tribes: All of the tribes are well funded too

Economist and author, Robert Reich, recently penned a piece on his blog stating the Republican Party as we used to know it is dead.

“I’m writing to you today to announce the death of the Republican Party. It is no longer a living, vital, animate organization.

“It died in 2016. RIP.”

Instead, the once thriving and successful party has now split into six smaller warring tribes. Reich says these tribes consist of:

1. Evangelicals opposed to abortion, gay marriage, and science.
2. Libertarians opposed to any government constraint on private behavior.
3. Market fundamentalists convinced the “free market” can do no wrong.
4. Corporate and Wall Street titans seeking bailouts, subsidies, special tax loopholes, and other forms of crony capitalism.
5. Billionaires craving even more of the nation’s wealth than they already own.
6. And white working-class Trumpoids who love Donald. and are becoming convinced the greatest threats to their wellbeing are Muslims, blacks, and Mexicans.

“Each of these tribes has its own separate political organization, its own distinct sources of campaign funding, its own unique ideology – and its own candidate. “
