The GOP just can’t stop mentioning Jesus, some of them claiming he asked them to run directly (guess the signal was weak when he mentioned which one). They bring Jesus up so much that he’s, “like a mascot holding pom poms on the sidelines” for the Republican party.
But why?
“The GOP would love to get behind a guy who was a peaceful radical, a non-violent revolutionary, who hung around with lepers, hookers, and criminals, who never spoke English, was not an American citizen, a man who was anti-capitalism, anti-wealth, anti-public prayer…anti-death penalty…but never once remotely anti-gay…” – John Fugelsang.Through a rapid-fire of facts Fugelsang continues to blast the GOP’s image of the capitalist-white-Jesus that simply does not exist, finishing, “of course that’s only if you believe what’s actually in the Bible.”
