Jon Stewart and his Daily Show colleague Jessica Williams
ripped Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday by harping on rapper and
entrepreneur Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s past as a drug dealer.
“Jay-Z is the guy they keep saying they want other Black guys to be,”
Williams argued. “But to them, he’s still just a crack dealer.”
Stewart explained that Hannity criticized New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) for meeting with Carter last week amid widespread demonstrations in New York City over the Eric Garner grand jury decision.
Not only did Hannity promote a segment regarding the meeting by
saying Cuomo met with an unnamed “former crack dealer,” Stewart said,
but he focused on one sentence in Carter’s autobiography, Decoded.
