You’ve got to love Representative Peter King (R-NY), he has become an annoying thorn in the side of the TEApublican element of his own party.
In arecent appearance with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, and must have given Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch a case of heartburn that will last until next Sunday.
Asked by Wallace about some of the colorful language he has used to describe fellow GOPers, King replied, “I’m talking basically about Ted Cruz, who was saying if we [voted in the House to defund] Obamacare, he could manage to both keep the government open and defund Obamacare. The fact is, it was done in the House and the government is now closed and Obamacare is going forward. This was a strategy that never could work. It was almost sort of a nullification, to say we’re going to shut down the government if we don’t defund a law that we don’t like.”
He went on to point out that there is a right way and a wrong way to repeal a law and that the shutdown is the wrong way. According to King, if they want to repeal the law, they should “do it the same way the president got it signed
