Baby Polar Bear sounding very upset

I was hiking and heard a black bear cub making similar noises down from a trail I was hiking on.  When I heard that noise, I got the bear spray out and walked faster and faster to move away from the sound.  Luckily, I was not followed by a momma bear or a cub.
