4 Year old shoots and kills mom with police officer dads gun

You have a highly trained police officer who leaves his gun for his 4 year old to find and play with it and the 4 year old kills his mom.  I AM NOT FEELING SAFER YET!!  So, we are now to have school personnel in school with guns and hundreds of kids.  This may lead to problems - just guessing.
