Pictures near the village of Pt Hope, AK

Here are two pictures.  The above is the 4 wheeler road to the airport and the old village just beyond.  The water is the Chukchi Sea.  It will be frozen over in a few months.  We still have permafrost here, most places in AK lost their permafrost.  It is not as solidly frozen as it was before.  I saw in a permafrost locker and there was a layer of water.  They said it used to be totally solid ice until a year or two ago.  It is very quiet and peaceful here.
